Graphic Designer

Job Description and Responsibilities

Definition/Summary of the Position: The Graphic Designer has the primary responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of the creative design aspects of the church. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all design elements including sermon series, special events, signage, social media, merch and more. With an emphasis in graphic design the Graphic Designer will work to develop the projects in conjunction with the video and social media departments. Key Functions include strategic development, system implementation, graphic design and ongoing management of creative projects.

Overview of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead Connect in planning, conducting and evaluating a comprehensive plan for creative design.
  • Create digital and printed expressions through graphic design to help communicate the vision of Connect.
  • Maintain a working project management system to keep projects on track for creative projects.
  • Lead the creative team from a graphics perspective in order to create a comprehensive approach and to ensure team deadlines are hit.

Focused Areas of Responsibilities:

Graphic Design

  • Create design pieces to adequately present the vision of Connect Church.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Communications Director to create supporting images to be paired with social posts and other expressions.
  • Develop best practices for growth and development in the area of design.

Necessary Knowledge/Skills:

Strong planning skills with a graphics/marketing/communications emphasis. Leadership abilities with demonstrated oral and written communication capability. Must interface with all levels of the Church membership and staff.

Basic Qualifications:

Equivalent experience or a degree in Marketing/Advertising or Graphic Design of an accredited college or equivalent work experience and must be an active at their current church.

Expectations besides your regular workweek schedule:

  • Assist with side projects/events for the church as deemed needed
  • Represent the Church in accordance with the vision set forth by the Lead Pastor
  • Any communication whether personal or professional is representing the church and must be done in a way that aligns with the churches beliefs and represents the church well.
  • Represent a growing personal relationship with Christ
  • Participate in a small group on a regular basis
  • Set appropriate boundaries in life and ministry to protect his or her character and integrity
  • Faithfully give to the ministry of Connect Church with 10% of your gross income
  • Look for opportunities to reach those who are far from God

Facility Care

Job Description and Responsibilities

Definition/Summary of the Position: Facility Care has the primary responsibility and point person for the oversight, development, and weekly cleaning and care of the building. Key Functions include weekly cleaning, room set up for weekly church use, stocking supplies for cleaning and guest use and periodic upkeep of the Church facilities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Cleaning

  • Weekly cleaning of the facilities to make sure it is ready for weekly and weekend events.
  • Set up of rooms with table and chairs for specific church activities.
  • Scheduling weekly cleaning routines.
  • Ordering and stocking of cleaning supplies.
  • Routine deep cleaning and floor care.

Necessary Knowledge/Skills:

Attention to detail and a heart for keeping Gods house clean. An understanding of cleaning and care as well as the ability to perform routine building care.

Schedule:
20 hours per week.

  • Wednesday 6 hrs
  • Thursday 6 hrs
  • Friday 6 hrs
  • Sunday 2 hrs

Basic Qualifications:

Previous experience in janitorial type work.
